Glowing Skin Tips

Everyone wants to have a healthy, glowing skin. To get radiant looking skin you want, you need to take good care of your skin through a skin care routine and daily health practices.

– Develop Glowing skina skin care routine for your particular skin type. You can’t achieve healthy, glowing skin if you don’t treat your skin properly. If you have oily skin, your skin is likely to look dull and have skin problems such as enlarged pores and blackheads. You need to use skin care products that help remove the buildup of oils and dead skin cells. If you have dry skin, you are more likely to have premature aging than any other skin types. You need to use a skin regimen for dry skin which helps balance the level of moisture in the skin.

What regimen is right for you also depends on your age. If you are in your 20s, use a skin regimen for 20s to prevent premature aging. When you are in your 30s, you need a skin regimen for 30s to slow down the aging process.

– Exfoliate. Exfoliation helps to remove dead skin cells and promote fresher skin cells underneath. Exfoliants with large granules are more abrasive while ones with smaller granules are usually softer and not as rough on the skin. What type of exfoliating scrub is right for you and how often you should scrub your skin depend on what skin type you have. If you have sensitive or dry skin, choose a fine grained scrub and limit the exfoliation to once a week. If you have oily skin, you skin is usually thick. You should use an exfoliant with large granules to scrub your face a few times a week. However, if you have oily skin with acne or acne-prone skin, you should avoid any exfoliants that contain granules because they can irritate your skin and make acne problem worse.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) such as glycolic acid and Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) such as salicylic acid are good alternatives for people who have acne. The peel removes a very thin layer of skin and therefore promotes the growth of new, glowing skin. Research studies have found that both AHAs and BHAs help treat fine lines, wrinkles, acne, uneven texture, and discoloration.

– Apply sunscreen. When skin is exposed to the sun, it produces pigments to help protect the skin. These pigments make the complexion dull and uneven. Choose a sunscreen that provides broad-spectrum protection with SPF 15 or above.

– Use a foundation that contains light reflectors. Apply the foundation over your nose, forehead, chin and the apples of your cheeks. Follow by a translucent powder instead of matte pressed powder.

– Eat healthily. Most experts believe a balanced diet is the best way to get healthy, radiant skin. Important sources of nutrients that benefit the skin include low-fat dairy products, fruits, vegetables, fish, nuts, and whole grains.

– Get enough sleep. Skin renewal and skin repair activities happen when you are in deep sleep or the period that we call “beauty sleep“. Lack of sleep also causes your body to produce stress hormones which make your skin look dull.

– Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. Water keeps your body and your skin hydrated and helps cells move nutrients in and toxins out.

– Exercise regularly. Exercise promotes sweating which helps open you pores and get rid of toxins in the skin. It also improves your blood circulation, allowing your blood to deliver nutrients and oxygen to the skin cells effectively. You body will be able to produce healthy skin cells, resulting in glowing skin.
